Accident insurance

What is the purpose of accident insurance?

A timely concluded accident insurance contract helps to cope with financial expenses due to a sudden accident.
Temporary injury or incapacity for work, permanent disability or, in worst cases, death can all cause financial concerns. Accident insurance benefits provide material security both for yourself, as well as the people closest to you.

Who needs accident insurance?

We offer accident insurance to persons from 6 months to 75 years of age.
Accident insurance is well suited for insuring one’s family, staff or groups of children.
Insurance can be valid around the clock, during working time or during spare time and, in addition, sports coverage can be selected.

When is the benefit paid?

Compensation for pain and suffering is paid in case an accident causes temporary injury to the insured person; the amount of compensation is determined according to the severity of the injury as a percentage of the agreed benefit limit. Injuries caused by an accident have been classified into nine levels, expressed as a percentage between 1and 30.
The insured person does not need a certificate of incapacity for work in order to receive compensation for pain and suffering; healing from injury should, however, last at least 8 days.

Daily allowance is paid for each day for which there is a certificate for sick leave (or a certificate for care leave in case of a parent of insured minor) due to an accident, provided that treatment lasts at least 8 days. Allowance is paid regardless of whether the insured person is treated at home or a medical facility.
Daily allowance limit is agreed as per day. Daily allowance is paid, at most, for the number of days stated in the insurance policy.

Permanent disability benefit is paid in case an accident causes permanent physical harm.
Permanent disability benefit is paid as a lump sum payment for an accident as a percentage of the agreed limit of the permanent disability benefit.

Death benefit is paid in case of a fatal accident, or if the insured person dies within one year from the accident. The heir or the beneficiary is paid a sum equalling the agreed death benefit limit. Previously paid types of benefit are not deducted from death benefit.

The Salva staff will help you to find the types of benefit (benefit alternatives) and the relevant benefit limits (amounts) which are best suited for your needs.

What is the cost of accident insurance?

The insurance premium depends on the insurance coverage and benefit limits chosen, duration of insurance, as well as profession and sporting habits of the insured person.
You can get an exact price quote from the Salva staff.

Where and how long is the insurance valid?

Salva accident insurance is valid worldwide. The contract can be concluded for 5 years at most.
